The Bachelor: Backstreet’s Back, Alright (S:21 E:3)

Corinne In Action

Last episode ended with Nick at the rooftop about to break the news to the women about sleeping with Liz. So the action starts out at the mansion where the rumors are spreading about Nick and Liz. Nick decides to clear up the air with the women. The Liz saga comes to an end.

Corinne wants a serious commitment and the best way to achieve it is getting sexual with Nick. Yup, that sure is the way. She comes with some whip cream that she eats out of his mouth. Yuck. Never mind. Her next move is to spray the whip over her chest. This isn’t Bachelor porn right? Nick doesn’t give into her seduction and Corinne quickly turns into a crying wreck, even contemplates on leaving after her disaster encounter with Nick.

Rose Ceremony

Early rose ceremony arrives and Corinne is deep asleep in her bed. Nick grabs the first rose and notices Corinne isn’t there. Onto the roses:

  • Astrid
  • Brittany
  • Kristina
  • Danielle
  • Rachel
  • Christen
  • Whitney
  • Taylor
  • Vanessa
  • Raven
  • Jaimie
  • Dominique
  • Sarah
  • Alexis (shark girl)
  • Josephine
  • Jasmine

Hailey is Lacey are going home. Hailey seemed like a keeper, but he never had a connection with her.

Chris Harrison arrives with a date card:

  • Danielle L.
  • Christen
  • Kristina
  • Whitney
  • Taylor
  • Jasmine
  • Corinne

Backstreet Boys Are Back

The group date is hanging out with the Backstreet Boys, who arrive at the house to announce the date. It’s come to these desperate measures for these guys. N’Sync wouldn’t be coming out of the dead to be a Bachelor group date. Many of these women grew up with the Backstreet Boys, they were probably like seven-years-old. The prize is to pick a women to come with Nick onstage during a Backstreet performance. A penguin has better dance moves than Corinne.

The concert takes place with all the women being “background” dancers along with Nick who is so out of place. The concert ends and the Backstreet Boys announce Danielle as the winner of this background dance. The reward for that is a solo dance with Nick onstage to the tune of singing Backstreet Boys. After the concert Corinne is on edge (what’s new) so she takes Nick to the side to apologize to Nick. Corinne makes it quick because a nap awaits her. Once Corinne knocks out Danielle L. and Nick are hitting it off in the back.

Back at the house a date card arrives. Danielle M. reads it, Vanessa is getting a solo date. So Corinne finally wakes up and tells the women about Raquelle, the nanny. It’s crucial that she makes cheese pasta for Corinne. I want some of that. Nick gives the date rose to Danielle L.

Puking Up

Vanessa and Nick date is a “Zero G” plane. Vanessa is in shock, but she wasn’t even explained what it is. They are floating inside a plane like astronauts. Vanessa has a leg vice grip on Nick that doesn’t last long due to her nausea taking over. The puke threats arise, Nick comes with a white paper bag and she pukes and pukes and pukes. At the home date card has:

  • Rachel
  • Alexis
  • Astrid
  • Jaimie
  • Sarah
  • Brittany
  • Dominique

Nick’s dinner date is inside the tallest building in LA, which is equivalent of being the tallest midget. Again, talking about his history on the show, this will not stop till this season ends. Nick is so thrilled to be with Vanessa that he ends up shedding tears for the excitement she gives him. He gives her a rose.

Track Stars

Watch out Usain Bolt, Nick Viall is quite the sprinter, running around a track. The date is date around the track? Who would sign up for this? At least Olympian’s Carl Lewis and Michelle Carter are helping out, but who wants an actual workout on a date?! Apparently Alexis is the most athletic of the non-athletic bunch of girls. Rachel, Astrid and Alexis are vying for time with Nick in the hot tub. What a prize. The sprint for the ring ends badly as Rachel crushes it, literally. Nick and Astrid are having a chat, but Dominique is breaking down. Dominique is feeling shunned so she goes to Nick and confronts him about it. Nick dodges around and lets her loose. She just talked her way out of the house. So the date rose ends up going to Rachel.

Pool Party Awkwardness

Chris Harrison announces there will be no cocktail party, but there will be a pool party. Corinne steals the show by arranging a bouncy castle for her and Nick, and there is a lot of bouncing between them inside it. The women are over the edge and ready to confront Nick about the Corinne situation. No one is more pissed off than Vanessa, who comes hard at Nick and questions his actions and motivation. Once again the outcome of this is to be continued.

RATING: 8/10

My Take:

Lots of Corinne drama. She’s the Olivia of this season, and they are using her in a similar way, just with added sexuality. Vanessa and Nick really hit it off this episode. She’s a favorite that finally is getting established. Not much from Danielle M. tonight. Just as Rachel began to fade, she’s back in the running with the rose she received. Backstreet Boys segment was just a publicity push, but will resonate with the audience. Time to max out on Corinne before she goes home, but it was still an entertaining episode.
